Jury and awards

Films will be selected by the festival organizer for respective competition programs based on their quality and diversity aspects. The grand prize is called "Goldene FILMthuer" (for school films "Schüler-Oskar"). Special awards are also available in various categories. A jury discusses the films in front of the festival audience and awards three jury prizes in each category. The best films are nominated for OSTINALE 2021 and can be registered for the Bundesfilmfestivals of BDFA. Qualified films must be registered in the BDFA database. Filmmakers will receive further details as needed.

At FILMthuer we want to be a door opener for young and ambitious filmmakers, promote talent and create a strong network of local filmmakers.
